Resolution is the smallest object the light curtain can reliably detect. At 30 mm, the beams are close enough together to detect a hand or finger entering the field, which is why this version is described as hand protection. It also lets the operator stay close to the work area, because the light curtain sits right at the danger point.
The safety distance depends on the machine's stopping time, the light curtain's response time (13 ms) and the approach speed, as described in ISO 13855. Prazamana's Stop Time Measurement service measures the machine's actual stopping performance to calculate the required distance, so please contact the team for help with your machine.
Yes. A light curtain is often combined with fixed guarding, which blocks the other sides of a danger zone, and with other devices such as emergency stops and safety controllers. Its safe semiconductor outputs are designed to connect to a compatible safety relay or controller. The right combination is decided by the risk assessment, and the Prazamana team can advise.
