Lockout/tagout is a safety procedure used to make sure machinery is isolated from its energy sources and cannot be started while maintenance, cleaning or repair is under way. A lock holds the isolation point in the safe position, and a tag shows who applied it and why. It is important because accidental start-up or release of stored energy during maintenance can cause serious injury.
The system automatically builds a time-stamped digital record of every lock, tag, verification and release, showing what was isolated, who isolated it and when.
